Cocktail Recipes

Classic Margarita

Here in Texas, we value our chips and queso, our enchiladas, and our Margaritas. And not just the sugary sweet sourbombs that you can get out of a premix.
So, let's make a REAL classic Margarita.
If you use better ingredients, you make better Margs. We'll follow a 3-2-1 ratio on ingredients. That way you can increase the recipe if you are making a bunch.

Materials

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila Blanco or Reposado
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz Freshly-squeezed lime juice

Instructions

  • Put all those ingredients into a shaker with ice and then shake it vigorously for 20 seconds.
  • Strain over fresh ice in a short glass that's rimmed with salt and garnish with a lime.

The Ole Blue Margarita

Give it some of that Graham America flavor!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Tequila Blanco
  • 1.5 oz Vedrenne Blue Curacao
  • 1.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice (or the juice of one lime)
  • Maldon salt flakes

Notes

Before you start to mix, get yourself a solid lowball cocktail glass. We LOVE anything by Spiegelau and feature their lines in our store. Roll the lime around on the counter top to soften up the pulp, and then slice in half.

Rub one side of the clean glass with the lime juice and sprinkle the Maldon flaky sea salt on the side of the glass and press down gently to make sure it adheres to the glass.
For an added effect, grate some of the lime zest and press it next to the rim of the glass for an extra luxurious treat.

Add a large cocktail cube of ice to your salted lowball and set aside.

In a shaker, fill with ice and add everything else. Cap the shaker with a pub pint and shake VIGOROUSLY for 10-15 seconds. This incorporates the mixture together and breaks up the ice shards for an extra fun texture.

Strain over the big ice cube and finish with just a pinch of the lime zest, a slice of lime, or a dried lime cocktail slice.

Enjoy. Repeat. Enjoy. Repeat. Enjoy. Repeat.
